When it gets warm like this we try to get outside as often as we can. One of the things we love to do is play with chalk in the driveway. On days where we’ve got lots of time, we mix up some home made sidewalk chalk paint and paint some murals in the driveway. It’s really simple to make and always keeps us busy for quite a while. Its also environmentally safe as its just made with ingredients you can find in your pantry so you don’t need to worry about what happens once it washes away in the rain.
Be sure to use a lot of the paint on the brush for the best color. As you can see above, it is VERY vibrant when you soak the brushes well. It always dries a little lighter and brighter than it goes on.
We love this project and hope you will enjoy it and get as much playtime out of it as we do.
1 part cornstarch (1 c.)
1 part water (1 c.)
Mix corn starch and water. Add food coloring and mix.
*I used solo cups or clear plastic cups to hold the paint for easy cleanup once we were finished.
