One of my kids favorite things to do is paint, they could do it all day long and we’ve done that before if I’m being honest. One of my favorite things to do is not clean up a hundred things after we do any of these projects so I try to come up with ways to make things easier as we go. The less stressful it is for me, the more likely we will actually do things like LETS PAINT a picture as big as the kitchen island!
If your budding Picasso is anything like mine they need to have their paint separated so that the red is there when its time to paint Optimus Prime’s chest, the green is still green when it comes time to paint Voltron into the mix and there is no white in the blue when it comes time to sign our name to the bottom. They sell TONS AND TONS of things on Amazon for this and hot tip, they all require you to clean them afterwards and FUCK THAT. So what I usually do is take one of my standard kitchen plates and cover it in tin foil.
And I can hear you say, but Missy why not just use a paper plate!??!! I’ll tell you dear friend! Because they are flimsy and often end up lightly bumped and dumped all over the table or floor. The weight of a regular kitchen plate helps it to stay in place and the tin foil allows you to fold it up when they’re finished into a neat little pouch and toss it in the garbage when you’re done. The plate goes back into the cabinet and you’re on to the next thing, no muss/no fuss. We can let them dry and hang them up for the family to marvel at for days to come.
What are some things that help your little artists around your house?
